The design of the teeth leaves the shortest distance between the surfaces where the O-ring is placed on each of the hinge parts and thereby creating pressure.
When the hinge is in the unfolded position it will cause hard lock applying a pressure on the end of the rod of approximately 30 grams per side. Furthermore the hinge creates a stop position that leaves a constant pressure of the holder’s head of a total 60 grams.

Fortifications on the rod consists of two holes for screws ( in Danish ”companion holes”) which are elongated holes for an adjustment rod for adjusting by ” lopsided” ear position.

UNDIS hinge differs from all other spectacle-hinges in both shape and functionality. For example, if anyone sits on the eyeglasses, the hinge itself will collapse. This will not break the hinge but the O-ring will dislocate. Afterwards the O-ring can easily be moved back to its regular position. A hard impact on the eyeglasses, from any given angle, will push the O-ring in the opposite direction. The elastic element of the O-ring will ensure that after an impact, the hinge will go back to its fixed position. If the impact is too hard, the hinge’s position will collapse. The O-ring can then manually be returned to its original position.
The special designed O-ring is Ozone and UV protected.

The hinge has been developed by HornEyes.

ngg_shortcode_0_placeholder

Description of UNDIS hinge The hinge is an “open” hinge where the surfaces of the two hinges are two asymmetric sets of teeth (wave) which are fixed with an O-ring.The asymmetric surfaces are designed so that every angle is uniquely adapted, thus creating a continuous uneven surface but overall it provides a smooth and seamless […]

["post-22","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry
["GET
